Wissam El Labban

Software and Security Engineer

Welcome to my corner of the web!

Ever wondered what a blend of AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering looks like in action? You’ve come to the right place.

I’m an engineer with a focus on building secure, smart, and scalable systems. With hands-on industry experience and a portfolio of passion-driven projects, this space is where I share what I’ve learned—and what I’m building next.

My journey into this domain began with an opportunity to join some of the most experienced professionals and brightest students in the Middle East. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering Networking, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence—constantly seeking out new challenges and finding out how things work.

This path has taken me from the warm weather of Dubai to the cool climate of the Detroit Metro area. Along the way, my key professional experiences have aligned with roles like AI engineer, penetration tester, SOC analyst, systems administrator, and software engineer.

I'm excited to share my projects, work experience, and future plans with you.

Training SLMs for Agent Use

Can SLMs (small language models) indeed be the future of agentic AI? This is an experiment that if successful, would not only make that statement seem plausable, but would also have them running reliably on edge devices.
